An evening of evocative songs and scintillating rhythm
A red-hot encounter between vocal Flamenco diva and prince
With every note and every word touching the soul, Spanish cantaora Carmen Linares is the great ambassador of Flamenco music. Since her debut release in 1970, Linares has enthralled audiences around the world with her poignant vocals and individual style that combines tenderness with restless passion.
With over 30 years of experience, Carmen Linares' extensive repertoire encompasses both the traditional and the contemporary. The New York Times has described her as a singer whose "expressive power is extraordinary". She will be sharing the spotlight with Miguel Poveda, one of the hottest young Flamenco singers today. Winner of the most prestigious Flamenco contest in Spain at the age of 20, Miguel Poveda has been lauded by critics and has performed at major international arts festivals, including last year's Festival of Flamenco USA in New York and Festival of Flamenco in London, to rave reviews.
Joining these two enchanting vocalists are acclaimed guitarist Juan Carlos Romero and dancer Rocío Molina who was named best new artist at the Flamenco Festival USA 2004. Together they will raise the temperature of what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
